멧갈라(The Met Gala) 레드카펫의 초고의 스타일은?

 

 

 

미국뉴욕은 매년 5월이면 패션 뿐 만아니라 영화, 음악까지 가장 영향력 있는 행사로 알려진 멧 갈라는 세계적인 유명 스타가 대거 참석해 아카데미 시상식보다 더 화려한 패션을 선보이는 것으로 유명하다.

 

이번 멧갈라의 테마는 화이트 타이(White tie)와 데코레이션(decorations)이었다.

'화이트 타이(White tie)'이는 남자들의 밤 예장인 연미복을 착용할 경우에는 흰 타이를 매는 것이 관습이다. 그래서 정장용 연미복을 화이트 타이라고 부른다.

 

반면 여성들은 갈라쇼의 주제에 맞게  데코레이션으로 디자인된 드레스들을 입고 나와 행사장의 화려함을 더하였다. 우리나라에서는 싸이와 고소영이 지난해에 이어 올해에도 참석하여 마돈나 등을 비롯한 헐리우드 스타들과의 친분을 과시하기도 하였다.
